Digestive Enzymes

Digestion is a long and complex process of breaking down food, which we take in through food, into energy for our body by providing it with the nutrients it needs to function properly. To activate this process there is a need for substances that can convert food into nutrients such as digestive enzymes.

Digestive enzymes are protein substances produced by the salivary glands and cells lining the stomach that enable them to facilitate the breakdown and digestion of the food we take in during meals, as macronutrients have a composition too large to be absorbed directly by the body and therefore the enzymes in the stomach enable them to reduce their volume and facilitate their digestion.
