Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is a form of alteration of the thyroid gland due to excessive production of thyroid hormones circulating within the body. There are several causes of hyperthyroidism symptoms; the most common form of hyperthyroidism is Graves-Basedow's disease, an autoimmune disorder that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones. Other causes of hyperthyroidism include Plummer's disease, toxic multinodular goiter, and thyroiditis.

Symptoms of this thyroid disruption manifest in numerous ways, such as sudden weight loss despite an increased appetite or in other ways such as tachycardia, anxiety states, tremors, excessive sweating, muscle fatigue, thinning skin and brittle hair.
