Let's start by distinguishing carbohydrates into two main groups: simple and complex.

Simple carbohydrates (monosaccharides) are found naturally in foods such as fruits and dairy products and in foods such as sweets, soft drinks, and preserved foods.

Complex carbohydrates (polysaccharides) are found in pasta, bread, rice and starchy vegetables (potatoes). Their molecular structure is polymeric, that is, they are essentially formed by joining monosaccharides in chains and, in order to be absorbed, must be broken down by specific enzymes.

What are the ingredients of Tsunami Nutrition Carb Pure Blocker?

Let's look specifically at the ingredients in this new signature formula from Tsunami Nutrition:
  • WHITE BEANS (Phaseolus vulgaris).
After consuming a carbohydrate-rich meal, the pancreas produces a family of enzymes, alpha-amylases, which are responsible for breaking down (hydrolyzing) the starch contained in complex carbohydrates and converting it into glucose, which is subsequently absorbed by the plasma.

Thanks to particular proteins present in the white bean, one is able to inhibit alpha-amylases, thus hindering the digestion of starch by the enzyme itself with effective reduction of plasma postprandial glucose and insulin levels: this could prove useful in individuals with impaired glucose tolerance (insulin resistance syndrome).
