Stomach Wellness

The stomach is an organ located between the esophagus and intestines, together forming the digestive system, which performs many important functions. In particular, it allows the transit of food, also known as bolus, from the mouth to the intestines and simultaneously allows the digestion of nutrients useful for the well-being of the body through the work of the gastric juices inside the stomach.

In fact, inside it the food begins to be stripped of its nutrients by the gastric juices and enzymes, and thanks to their intervention the process of digestion of lipids, which are broken down into fatty acids, and proteins begins. In contrast, the digestion of carbohydrates is limited because of the acidic environment in the stomach, and this does not activate salivary amylase, which initiates the digestion process in the mouth.
