Did you know that men can also suffer from cellulite? That’s right – cellulite can be a problem not only for women, but for men too. In this article, we’ll look at what cellulite is, what causes it, and how to improve this cosmetic issue that can also affect men.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a condition that occurs when fat cells accumulate beneath the skin’s surface, causing that ‘lumpy’, dimpled appearance. It most commonly appears on areas such as the thighs and buttocks, but in men in particular, it can also appear around the stomach.
Causes of cellulite in men
The cause of cellulite in men is still unknown, but certain factors can increase the risk of developing it. These factors include age, genetics, hormones, a poor diet, lack of physical exercise, smoking and alcohol consumption. Furthermore, certain steroid-based medicines, when used inappropriately, can increase the risk of developing cellulite.
How to reduce cellulite
Few people realise that cellulite is often more visible in men because they have a lower body fat percentage than women.
Although it is not possible to eliminate it immediately and completely, except through surgery – particularly once certain stages have been reached – there are certain steps you can take to reduce its visibility.
These include:
- A healthy, balanced diet with a low glycaemic index, rich in fibre and fermented foods, and low in ready-to-eat products high in sodium and trans fats
- Drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcohol
- Taking regular exercise
- Avoiding smoking and the misuse of over-the-counter medicines
- Using certain topicalcreams and lotions and some innovative nutraceutical supplements
Furthermore, avoiding tight-fitting clothing can help minimise the appearance of cellulite by allowing air to circulate more freely around the body.
By following these tips, you should be able to reduce the unsightly appearance of cellulite on your body and feel more confident and fit.
Dietary supplements to reduce cellulite
When it comes to dietary supplements, I’d like to introduce you to five formulas from Tsunami Nutrition that can help men combat cellulite and improve water retention, another issue that can also affect men.
POWER TAKE Pure Professional
The first product that can help you is Power Take Pure Professional, an innovative dietary supplement based on ancient medicinal mushrooms such as shiitake, maitake, cordyceps, hericium erinaceus and reishi, which strengthen the body’s natural defences, help manage stress and have a tonic and metabolic effect that can improve body composition.
Mushrooms have always been mysterious organisms that have fascinated cultures and traditional medicines around the world for centuries. They are highly complex organisms, and we know that there are as many as 140,000 species on our planet, although the scientific community is aware of only 10 per cent of this total.
Modern science has only recently begun to take an interest in these organisms, compared to older traditional medical systems such as Chinese medicine; even the ancient Egyptians recognised that mushrooms had remarkable beneficial properties in terms of life expectancy, as well as their revitalising power.
Power Take Pure Professional by Tsunami Nutrition harnesses the knowledge and power of five different types of mushrooms, combining them in a single product to capitalise on their synergistic effect, thus creating the perfect blend to support concentration, stress management, the immune system and body composition, whilst helping to improve issues such as water retention and cellulite.
DOSAGE: 4 capsules per day, 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch or before training.
Reducell Pure
Based on the idea of meeting the demand for a comprehensive product that reduces imperfections, improves drainage and microcirculation, we have created Reducell Pure, an innovative nutraceutical supplement capable of delivering the best results not only in combating water retention, but also in treating more serious issues such as those related to cellulite.
Let’s take a moment to clarify: when we talk about water retention, we do not include cellulite. Although these two terms share some common causes, they refer to two very different conditions. Whilst we looked at what water retention is at the start of this article, cellulite is a more serious inflammation of the subcutaneous tissue that manifests itself in various stages and, above all, through the appearance of dimpling and irregularities in the dermis.
Having made this distinction, our aim is to create products that offer all-round support, particularly to restore balance to the human body. That is why we have created Reducell Pure, a powerful ally in the fight against water retention, as well as more serious issues such as cellulite.
As always at Tsunami Nutrition, we have worked exclusively with the highest-quality ingredients to create a dietary supplement containing unique patented ingredients such as ENOVITA® and LYMPHASELECT® which, together, will have a unique and comprehensive effect on your body.
DOSAGE: 2 to 4 tablets a day with plenty of water, best taken at the start of the day.
Cogni-fort
We know that body composition is also influenced by our mental state. That is why I am introducing Cogni-Fort, TN Pharma’s new innovative supplement – vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free – made from natural extracts and innovative raw materials that support mental wellbeing, concentration and memory, and which can also improve physical appearance.
Cogni-Fort is a dietary supplement designed and formulated to combat the causes of mental fatigue by improving cognitive functions, which are important when it comes to physical appearance. Excellent for work, study and sport, this supplement – one of the best dietary supplements for memory – is recommended for combating low energy levels.
Taken as a whole, the combination of ingredients creates an exceptional blend of active ingredients that work synergistically to stimulate cognitive function, improve memory and all associated mnemonic processes, promote concentration, reduce stress and minimise imperfections caused by excessive inflammation.
DOSAGE: It is recommended to take at least 3 capsules a day, the first in the morning or before an important event.
Bromelain
The final nutraceutical I’d like to introduce is Bromelain, a supplement that has been widely used since ancient times. It is highly beneficial for humans thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, its role in recovery, its ability to improve drainage, and also its proteolytic activity.
Of all the products available on the market, if you’re looking for a product to drain excess fluid from soft tissues and combat the appearance of cellulite, you’ve no doubt heard of the properties of pineapple and, consequently, bromelain.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme extracted from the pineapple stem, used in various herbal preparations and much more besides.
From a chemical perspective, bromelain is a complex mixture of proteases – enzymes responsible for breaking down proteins – which also possesses excellent anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, fibrinolytic and immunomodulatory properties. Furthermore, it appears to have a positive effect on cardiovascular health.
Thanks to its structure, bromelain supplementation helps promote fluid drainage and combats the inflammatory agents that trigger traumatic inflammatory processes such as cellulite.
DOSAGE: 1 to 3 capsules per day, taken with main meals, depending on the individual’s specific needs and goals.
