I'm Matteo Massimo Primo, a biologist, nutritionist and R&D Specialist. Since 2019 I have been part of the research and development department at Tsunami Nutrition, where we have created formulations that are best sellers internationally.

I come from competitive sport: swimming, football, athletics and finally the weight room, where I still train today in a hybrid style, with real longevity in mind. A serious illness that struck me when I was young sparked my interest in everything nutrition and supplementation can do for performance and health, and it became my path of study: Sport and Exercise Science, Biology, a master's degree in Human Nutrition Science and Nutraceutics at San Raffaele University, then a first-level university master's in Nutritional Genetics and Epigenetics and a second-level one in Clinical and Applied Phytotherapy and Nutraceutics. I specialised in preventive and anti-ageing medicine with International Longevity Science, focusing on sports performance and gut health. I have now also started studying Medicine and I am completing my training in IV therapy and regenerative medicine.

I teach for ILSA – Akesios Group and I am the nutrition lead at Vyta Longevity. Together with the Tsunami team I also support the VR46 MotoGP Team. In 2023 I created the Metodo Primo®, my approach built on complete programmes to stay fit and healthy without a life of deprivation.

In this blog I share the work I do every day between the clinic, sport and the laboratory: sports nutrition, wellbeing and longevity, and above all nutraceutics, both as functional food and as supplementation designed to support the body over the long term. I'll tell you what the research says, which myths circulate in the industry, how a formulation is born and how it can help you feel better, as well as how to optimise your performance and the food you bring to the table every day.
